An experienced Information Technology Layout Editor and previous newspaper columnist. Currently works for the NHS and also studying.

Runs marathons to raise money and support charities within the UK and especially those helping The Gambia.  Active and engaged with UKGAMBIA organisation.

MRS SAINABOU SAMBA-GOMEZ

VICE CHAIRPERSON

Former Midwife now a Specialist Sister in Reproductive Health and a Health Adviser for young people. Works closely with Social Services regarding young persons Safe Guarding, Child Exploitation and FGM.

Champion in Domestic Violence.

A lawyer with great experience working in the civil service for many, many years in areas of policy, procurement and contract management. A member of many charitable and fundraising organisations supporting deprived individuals and/or their families, local community projects, hospices and charities in need.  Possess valuable management, leadership, networking and communication skills. Overall, a loving family man, a good team player, keen adviser and natural facilitator.

An Adult Nurse specialising in haematology and working with elderly dementia patients. Involved with and supports numerous Charitable Organisations. Currently an Executive Member at GRAB Gambia. Has initiated and hosted many Charitable, Educational and Health Awareness events towards improving the healthcare system in The Gambia.

ADVISER

An Orthopaedic Surgeon with great interest in The Gambia healthcare provision. Experience  working  with a number of charities doing various work in The Gambia. In the main,  does most charitable work in his own right with regular trips and donations to EFSTH including holding pro bono clinics at Westfield Hospital, Kanifing.

A Registered Clinical Nurse practitioner specialising in gastroenterology, respiratory and infectious diseases and have worked for many years in the NHS.

Current President of Senegambia Hidden Talents UK based in Bristol City aimed at working with children of Senegambia, and other black and minority ethnic groups.

An appointed Ambassador for the UK Jarra Association health project.

Worked in the NHS for many years as a mental health practitioner. Currently the Deputy Manager at C&I Foundation Trust-Including crisis centres. Initiated an organisation called Better Thoughts Africa in 2014 and work with organisations interested in mental health.

Lecturer and Module Leader for Business and Economics at Kaplan International College London (KICL). Holds a PhD in Economics from the Kingston University.

A Pharmacist

Lives in London.

Charity work: In addition to GHM (UK), also works with two other charities based in Upper Niumi district in The Gambia.  Both charities support inhabitants with costs for medical emergencies, natural disasters and education.

Community work: works closely with her local community to provide medicine through written protocols for treatment of minor ailments.
